Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year, and to the web page of Mr. Rule's fourth-grade class at Fruchthendler Elementary School in the Tucson (Arizona) Unified School District. Fruchthendler is an Excelling school, as designated by the Arizona Department of Education. We're also an OMA Gold school, committed to integrating the arts into the curriculum.

Help your student become a stronger reader! The best way to keep reading skills sharp is to use them a lot. Please encourage your student to read at least half an hour a day, every day. Reading for pleasure is a habit that can last a lifetime. 

Here are two important events for your calendar:

·        The Labor Day holiday will be on Monday, September 5, so no school that day

·        Parent-teacher conferences will be on the afternoons of September 14, 15, and 16. Students will be dismissed at 12:14, following lunch, on those days.
