Chess Club
Welcome to the Fruchthendler Chess Club 2011-2012!
The first Chess Club meeting will be Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in the multi-purpose room (cafeteria).
The chess club is open to all Fruchthendler students. We welcome students of
all abilities, from no experience to experienced tournament players. The weekly
club meetings focus on learning the game and pieces, strategy, and club
tournaments. We are happy to say that Coach Ken Larsen will be returning this
year. Ken is a professional chess player and coach.
In addition to weekly Chess Club meetings, members have the opportunity to participate in city-wide scholastic chess tournaments held throughout the school year. Tournaments are typically held on Saturdays. For more tournament information, please visit the Southern Arizona Chess Association website at www.sazchess.org.
