The Fruchthendler 2011 Spell-a-thon is here, and we are very excited to have everyone participate. This is our major fundraiser, and is the only thing we ask the children to do. We don't ask them to sell anything; instead, we have a fundraiser that is a learning experience. Spell-a-thon dollars support PTA programs like art, music, P.E., etc. Our goal is to raise over $10,000. Your child has been given a donation sponsor sheet, envelope and a list of spelling words to study. The test will be given Friday, March 4. Please help your child to get sponsors and donations. The donations can be a pledge amount for each word spelled correctly or a straight donation. Anything helps! Each child will be given a prize for participating. There will also be a drawing on the day of the assembly, March 11 from 2-3 p.m. For each word spelled correctly your child will get an entry into the drawing. There will be three drawings, K & 1st grade, 2nd & 3rd grade, and 4th & 5th grade. We will be giving away three Kindles, the wireless reading device from Amazon. The assembly will be a "Minute to Win It" theme, and selected kids will compete against teachers in fun Minute to Win It games.
