Hollinger PACE PRESCHOOL
ELEMENTARY
“The wonders of childhood are mirrored in the world of play” --Cecilia Avalos, Founder of TUSD PACE Program The Parent
and Child Education (PACE) Preschool Program serves four and five year old
children and their families. Class
size is limited to 16 students. Children
attend class four hours a day, five days a week.
PACE staff conduct home visits with child’s families and offer
workshops for families to assist them in their roles as their child’s first
and most important teachers. Families
participate in the classrooms and attend fieldtrips.
The commitment required of each family participant is significant; the
benefits enjoyed by parents and children are far reaching and long lasting.
We strongly believe that families are vital to their child’s
development. Hollinger PACE Preschool maintains a
consistent program with developmentally appropriate practices in a stimulating
challenging and creative environment. The
first years of a child’s life is growing and developing at an amazing rate.
Therefore, we expose your child to a variety of quality experiences that
are crucial to his/her development. Hollinger
PACE is an exceptional learning place for our children.
Our children build their knowledge through active learning. The program
helps children become life-long learners through a safe nurturing environment,
so that children can learn to be independent, creative and problem solving
individuals. We lay the foundation
for the inner strength and resilience necessary for each child to meet the
demands of his or her world. Our
curriculum encourages choice making, autonomy and social competence.
Learning is an on going evolving process which is an individual continuum
of acquired practices. Large motor
skills are acquired by climbing, running, building with large blocks and riding
tricycles. Small motor skills are
developed by making puzzles, painting, drawing, sewing, play-dough and cooking
with children. We focus on all
areas of the curriculum: physical development, language and literacy, math,
science social studies, the arts, and personal/social development.
A child’s learning experiences are relevant and meaningful.
It is truly amazing to be reminded how education impacts every student
through his or her life. Hollinger
PACE Program looks forward to working closely with our PACE families in this
important endeavor. Please
feel free to contact us for further information.
