School Compact It is
important that families and schools work together to help students achieve high
academic standards. Through a process that includes teachers, families, students
and community representatives, the following are agreed upon roles and
responsibilities that we as partners will carry out to support student success
in school and in life.
Teacher
Pledge: I
agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability:

curriculum and instruction.
- I will endeavor to
motivate my students to learn.
- I will have high
expectations and help every child to develop a love of learning.
- I will communicate
regularly with families about student progress.
- I will provide a safe
and caring learning environment.
- I will participate in
professional development opportunities that improve teaching and learning.
- I will support the
formation of partnerships with families and the community.
- I will actively
participate in collaborative decision making and consistently work with
families and my school colleagues to make the school accessible and
welcoming for families which help each student achieve high academic
standards.

agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability:
- I will come to school
on time, ready to learn and work hard.
- I will bring necessary
materials, completed assignments and homework.
- I will learn and
follow school and class rules.
- I will ask for help
when I need it.
- I will help provide a
safe and caring learning environment
- I will communicate
regularly with my parents and teachers about school experiences so that they
can help me to be successful in school.
- I will go to bed at a
regular bed time, and I will make healthy food choices so I am ready to
learn.
- I will limit my TV
watching and instead study or read every day after school.
- I will respect the
school, classmates, staff and families.
Family/Parent
Pledge:
I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my
ability:
- I will ensure that my
child attends school every day, and on time.
- I will ensure that my
child gets adequate sleep, proper nutrition and regular medical attention.
- I will communicate
changes in our family structure and update contact information quarterly.
- I will provide a quiet
time and place for homework, and monitor TV viewing.
- I will read to my
child or encourage my child to read every day.
- I will help provide a
safe and caring learning environment.
- I will communicate
with the teacher or the school when I have a concern a question, or praise.
- I will regularly
monitor my child's progress in school.
- I will participate at
school in activities such as Site Council, PTA, volunteering and/or
attending parent-teacher conferences.
- I will communicate the
importance of education and learning to my child.
- I will respect the
school, staff, students, and families.
