PTO Meeting Minutes

Kellond Elementary School

November 17th, 2009

Present at meeting: Rena Ikeda, Jotrisha (?), Warner Rocky Taylor, Kerry Weber, Sally Chester, Diane Hicks, Clara Lemos, Kelly Slachter, Austin Crain,  Stephanie Crain, Mindie Marsh, Becki Ahrendt & Sharon Ogle

Distributed Kellond PTO Officer Responsibilities and made sure everyone knew that each positions would be for a 2 year term.  Voted for officers.

·                      Kelly Slachter - Treasurer         13 yah/0 nay

Decided hours that the Rummage Sale would run 8am-2pm.  We agreed that the last few hours of the sale that everything would be half price to move everything out.  We added another drop-off location (if Dr. C. approves it) inside the doors to the right of the corral.

Scheduled morning/afternoon pick-up of donated items.

·                      Kerry - morning/afternoon pick-up by the library gate and will keep box

·                      Kelly - morning pickup by main gate Nov. 20th-25th keep box in Room 19

·                      Jotrisha - afternoon pickup by main gate Nov. 20th-25th keep box in Room 19

Ms. Chester will put box out in the morning at main gate

Jotrisha will put box out in the afternoon at main gate

·                      Rena - morning/afternoon pick-up by main gate Nov. 30th- Dec. 4th and will keep box

·                      Becki - afternoon pick-up inside the doors to the right of the corral and will leave box

Each pick-up individual will be responsible for arranging for storage with Kelly, Rocky or Cindy until the corner of the Cougar Room is available Nov. 30th.  Items will be priced as they are received.  Becki will order 2 packages of colored dots for pricing and put them in the PTO mailbox for distribution.  Adult’s clothes will be $1.00 children’s clothes will be $.50.

Available people volunteered for time slots at the rummage sale.

7am-11am - Mrs. Chester, Kerry, Rena, Becki (till 10am) & Mrs. Lemos (from 8am)

11am-3pm - Stephanie, Kelly, Rocky & Mindie (from 12pm)

Action Items:

·                       Mindy will post Rummage sale in the Shopper, Dandy Dime, Craigslist

·                       Mindy will make new signs for the (3) a-frame signs

·                      Stephanie will make flyers for the school and help with advertising

·                      Ms. Ogle is donating 4 boxes of crafts from last year

Discussed Student Councils fund-raising events/dates for the year.  Need to check the by-laws for the exact percentage that gets donated from the PTO to Student Council. Student Council will set-up a Make-A-Wish donation jar near the cash register at the Rummage Sale.

·                      Barnes & Noble Book Fair

·                      Online Jewelry Sale 

Rena will call US Bank to determine everything that we need to set-up an account

Next meeting scheduled for Jan. 12th, 2010 at 6 pm. Childcare and refreshments will be available.
