Library News

Six Kellond students were the guests of honor at a special breakfast held in the library. They completed the Pima Public Library’s summer reading program, and we’re proud of their reading accomplishments.

The first parent book club meeting of the 2009/2010 school year is almost here. We will meet on October 6 at 6:30 in the library, and we want YOU to join us! We meet once a month to discuss an exciting children’s book provided by Mrs. Eichhorst, snack a bit, and get to know each other. You can park in the lot behind the library and come in the back gate.

The national Read for the Record event is scheduled for October 8th. This year’s highlighted book is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Last year over 700,000 students all over the world participated in setting the world record for the most people reading the same book on the same day. This will be Kellond’s fourth year to take part in the event, and our students will have the opportunity to hear the book read to them or to read it themselves.

Please keep in mind that students check out books from the library for two weeks. They may be turned in earlier and can be renewed if more time is needed to finish reading them. The library is open before school so parents can check books out to read with their children. Please stop by to take advantage of all the library can offer!
