RESILIENCY
Kellond has also adopted the Resiliency Based Program to use with PeaceBuilders. The Resiliency Program stresses the consideration of each student's strengths instead of the deficit model often used in Special Education. Our faculty and staff have been trained to follow the Resiliency model. We have revised our school forms to incorporate student strengths.
To help others.

1. Prevention--identification of problem areas that can be taken care of to avoid the problem, by practicing the PeaceBuilders standards.
2. Action--consequence for breaking a school rule.
3. Resolution--teaching the child alternative ways to deal with the problem.
If your child has been referred to the office and brings home a yellow note to notify you of a problem at school, please take a few minutes to discuss the problem. Sign and return the yellow form the following day. We try not to disturb the parents at work unless it is an emergency or illness. Working together with support from home will result in true understanding, growth and self-discipline for your child. Please call if you have questions or concerns.
