Welcome

October is filled with many activities throughout the month. Please note highlighted dates for these throughout the newsletter and on the school bulletin.  The September PTO meeting, as well as the Book Fair and Family  Literacy night were a huge success.  Thank you to all who attended and helped to support these events.

Coffee with the Principal

Friday, October 5th, 2007.  Coffee with the Principal” from 8:00-8:30 a.m. This is a great opportunity for parents to meet with the principal informally to talk about any issues, and the development of our school as a whole.  I encourage parents to attend.

Reminder—As A Title I School, our School Improvement Plan will focus on the          following topics;

Reading, Writing, Math, Technology, Attendance, and School Community Outreach.

ARRIVAL TIME FOR SCHOOL

All students should arrive at school between 7:40-7:49am unless they are eating      breakfast, which  begins at 7:15am.  The first bell rings at 7:49.  Students should be lined up outside their classroom door no later than 7:54am, when the second bell rings.  On rainy days, students should go directly to the cafeteria and wait for their teachers to pick them up.  Please remind your child to come to the cafeteria to eat breakfast or wait outside under  supervision until the first bell rings.

 Think Safety First

 Thank you for driving slowly and carefully and always wear your seatbelt.

Welcome to the third edition of The Maldonado Minute Magazine.  You will notice that the newsletter in now in black and white.  There is a significant difference in cost to print in color for the 600 copies that we need, and so to keep them down we will print in B/W from now on.  It will still be posted on the web site in color at the following address:  http://edweb.tusd.k12.az.us/Maldonado/newsletter.htm

A huge thank you goes out to all the parents that contributed to our parent story section.  It was great to read so many articles by the Maldonado Community.  Please continue to submit your personal stories, and know that we will make every effort to insure that it gets published in the newsletter.  Remember to come to one of the parent writing workshops and learn more about story writing and editing.  See page 2 for dates and times.
