Dear Parents, The Maldonado library is excited to host two wonderful and fun events in the month of February for all students, parents, grandparents, faculty and staff. The week of February 7 – 11th, we will celebrate “Love of Reading Week.” During this week, we encourage everyone to read, read and read some more!! We will feature several events during school hours. Classes will read to therapy dogs, The Bear Essential News Editor will be visiting us, the Chik-Fil-A Cow will make an appearance and we will have “Class Buddies Reading Fun”, along with a visit from the Drexel Fire Department. Parents are encouraged to sign up to read to a class in the library. In addition, the Scholastic Book Fair is COMING to the Maldonado library the week of February 14 – 18th. We have GREAT days planned for this event. Monday February 14th “Sweetheart of a Deal” an open house from 2:30pm till 5:30pm, browse and buy books, enter our two raffles, one to win $10.00 in Scholastic Dollars to spend at the book sale another raffle to win a poster from the book fair. Tuesday morning, February 15th it’s “Dad and Donut Time,” dads spend some times with your students, enjoy donuts and juice while you visit the fair. Wednesday morning, February 16th belongs to moms, while they can munch down on muffins and juice with their children and read a book or buy a book! Thursday is “Grandparents Morning,” students ask your grandparents to visit the fair with you, there will be goodies for everyone. All morning events are from 7am to 7:45 am, students will have to leave for class at that time, anyone else is welcome to stay! |

The School Community Partnership Council (SCPC) invites all parents, educators, and community members to attend the February 21st meeting to be held at Catalina Magnet High School beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. TUSD Superintendent Dr. John Pedicone will present The State of the District. Budget information and other relevant updates will also be shared. If you will need babysitting or interpreter services, please advise your principal by February 17th of the number and ages of your children for babysitting, and the language for which interpretation is needed so those arrangements can be made for you in advance.
Yearbook club will be taking pre-sale orders for our yearbook starting next week in their child’s classroom. $15.00 for one yearbook or $25.00 for two! The yearbook club will also be selling Maldonado bracelets for $1.00 to help cover printing costs.
A School Uniform Meeting has been scheduled for February 15th at 5:00 p.m. to discuss the colors, and styles which will be approved. Please put this date on your calendar!
