Dear Community Members,

Welcome to the Mary Meredith K-12 Website. I hope that visitors to this site receive valuable information about our school.

As an Exceptional Education school, our staff is committed to promote the development and implementation of high quality individualized education for each and every one of the students that we serve. We are a small school consisting of one elementary classroom, two middle school classrooms, and four high school classrooms one of which focuses on community- based instruction.

The State of Arizona Department of Education recognizes our school as an ED-P facility as we offer our students the structure and supervision necessary to meet their educational needs in a safe and orderly learning environment. Having a full time school counselor along with community agency partnerships allows us to incorporate a therapeutic component that differentiates our school from other self-contained programs in the Tucson Unified School District.

As a student-centered school we at Meredith K-12 work together with parents/guardians and outside agencies like La Frontera, Pantano Behavioral Health, Providence, and Intermountain to ensure that there is common understanding about therapeutic and educational goals for our students.

Since we are a small learning community, our staff has the unique opportunity to work closely with each student. This year we will continue to integrate technology into our instruction for students and provide both service learning and vocational education opportunities on and off our campus.

Our professional learning community teams meet regularly to discuss instruction, curriculum and management strategies that are in the best interest of our students. Staff members have received professional learning and are knowledgeable and skilled with the safe and preventative actions of Handle with Care student intervention techniques.
