Individual families of Ochoa Elementary School came together as a collective. This collective of families reflected on their experiences and their involvement with their children's school.
During this time, they came to the realization that it is so important to be more involved, more engaged with the community that makes up the school - staff, parents, children and school partners. There are also needs of the school and of the families that could be met through specific creative projects and events.
The idea for a FIESTA came about. The FIESTA not only brings everyone together but also allows everyone to celebrate, enjoy, and demonstrate their unity and commitment towards making Ochoa Elementary School a better place for all.
Also, the idea for a RECYCLING PROJECT emerged based on the thought that this could be so beneficial for Ochoa and the families for so many reasons. For example, it could be motivational for everyone to feel responsible in respecting, valuing and taking care of their environments. Another idea was that recycled materials could contribute to many of the creative learning projects within the school.
