Fixing the POI: Follow Up

While I was not able to stay for the entire meeting on the Programme of Inquiry but the turn out and production at the meeting was truly an amazing display of the commitment our teachers have to making Robison the best possible PYP. With guidance of Ms. Jeffrey and Ms. Lee and the participation of the teachers your were able to finalize the end-of-year draft.

In fact, it is the effort of classroom teachers that makes the PYP happen and also ensures that the IB philosophy will persist and prevail into the future. As Ms. McDonald has told me, there is no way to go back to any previous pedegogy because students learn best when they get the right mix of skill instruction and independence. The same can be said of the faculty.

The fantastic Exhibition, Fiesta de las Flores and POI review session demonstrate that IB coordination at Robison is grass-roots and comes from the classroom teachers. At the risk of sounding trite and mushy, I am the proudest principal in TUSD. I wish everyone a restful summer, where ever you may be spending it.

More Grass Roots: Water Day

Teachers have also organized a Water Day for students on Tuesday. The preparations are already underway and everyone should get more details today.

The Roadrunners Shine

The hardwork and dedication of our Roadrunner softball team paid off on Saturday when we took 3rd place at city softball tournament. We lost a hard fought game to a very good Summit View team (and eventual champion) 9-2 from Sunnyside then defeated our long time rival Davis in the consolation game 5-2 to take the 3rd place trophy.

Thank you Mr. Canez and the Roadrunners for your teamwork during the season.

The Magic Box Awoke Again

Sunday evening Robison had 6 stories represented at the Best of Stories the Soar show at the Temple of Music and Art. It was fantastic to see The Purple Fairy and Lucky the Dog come to life in front of people from all over Tucson. Madison Profitt, Isabella Cavazos (Valdez) and Savannah Venker (Pagnan) got be stars under limelight on stage.
