I. Call to Order: Meeting called to order by Laura Tick at 12:31 PM.
II. Announcements

c. Period Selection Process Thursday and Friday March 29th, 30th
d. Spring Break April 5-9

III. Correspondence
IV. Minutes of last meeting – February 28, 2012: Date of minutes for last meeting changed to January 25, 2012. Motion made by Denise Kiewel to approve minutes as corrected, 2nd made by Tanya Farr. All in favor, minutes passed.
V. Treasurer’s Report – Lori Emrich Galbraith: Laura presented January reports. Income: $2,231.49; Expenses: $0; Net Income: $2,231.49; Ending Balance: $32,455.10. See attached report.
VI. Administrative Representative – Valerie Payne: Holding pattern on budgets.
VII. Teacher Representative – Kyra Curtis: Thank you to PTSA for helping.
a. AP exams coming up: help for May 7th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 15th, 16th, 17th. All at JCC except 16th at Sahuaro.
b. April 24th ACT test for all Juniors.
c. AIMS 10th and 11th of April.
VIII. Student Representative - Christian Bidegain: Sabino Carnival moved from 3/31 to April 28th!
IX. Committee Reports:
a. Membership – Tanya Farr: No changes.
b. Grocery Fundraiser – Ruth Hansen: No report. Check into gift cards from Le Buzz, 20% back. Fry’s Cool Cash, renew barcode every January. Kyra suggested to ask Safeway to allow us to plant outside our Safeway and try to sign people up, even those without kids.
c. Hospitality /Staff Appreciation – Susan Collett: Heading up breakfast on Thursday March 29th. Happy Spring thing. End of year breakfast for staff.
d. Non-Event Fundraiser/Grant Requests – Denise Kiewel & Laura Tick:
1. Payne: Request for two more cement trash cans; one by the Little Theatre, one by tennis courts. $235/can. Believe it is a flat shipping fee, so let’s purchase more than 2 cans. Should cost approximately $1600 for 6. Motion made by Tanya to purchase 6 trash cans, with funds from Long-Term/Special Projects at an approximate cost of $1600, 2nd made by Denise. All in favor, motion passed.
e. Sabercat Pride on-line – Lori Emrich-Galbraith: March not published due to a quiet month. Next issue April 24th. Deadline April 12th.
f. SCPC – parent representative needed. No meeting for March. State of budget discussed in February, on website.
g. Excellence Awards – Diana Streitfeld: None received. Slow year. E-mail sent from Valerie to all staff.
h. Site Council – Laura Tick & Laurie Meier: Talked about marketing piece to get Sabino brand out in the community. Laurie working on brochure. Digital Media class looking at it. No budget updates.
i. Volunteers – Diana Streitfeld: Covered for now. Schedule pick-up in the fall is July 23rd-25th, late pick-up July 27th. Diana will get in contact with people for help.
X. New Business:
a. Honors Night: Will get Kohl’s to hand out programs and Sabino will make another $500.
b. Book Store end of year volunteers: Ana Vaughn needs help May 14th – May 23rd with book check-in.
c. Senior Breakfast: 8 AM May 22nd, mandatory for seniors. Collaborative effort by STUCO and parents. Asked for no eggs this year. Suzann Ghekas will check into McDonald’s pancakes. Will ask for donations. Will set up a senior breakfast meeting for parents.
XI. Old Business: Needed PTSA positions for next year: President.
XII. Next meeting: April 24th at 12:30PM in the Administration Building basement.
