Non-Event Fundraiser

The PTSA’s only major fundraiser is known as “NEF,” the Non-Event Fundraiser.  We encourage Sabino families to contribute annually to this fundraiser by sending tax-deductible donations in any amount.  The donations are used specifically for the purpose of granting special requests from teachers and staff for items that are not provided by the school district.  In the past three years we have raised over $6,000 annually.  NEF money has funded or partially funded such requests as Teacher workshops for all departments, the school’s Hotmath.com site license, LCD Projectors, graphing software, math calculators, Drug awareness assemblies, & much more!

In contrast, the School Tax Credit allows a couple to donate up to $400 /year to specific program(s) or club(s) that charge an activity/participation fee. The donation results in a direct credit against State taxes owed by the individual during that calendar year. School Tax Credit donations are also restricted funds and may only be used to offset specific expenses incurred by the program or club to which they were donated.

Additionally, the PTSA encourages you to participate in programs we have coordinated through grocery stores and other retailers who support us by returning a percentage of your purchases to the school.  Information about these programs can be found in the Sabercat Pride or click here.
