Literacy Volunteers Needed!

The Reading Seed is a literacy program for first, second, and third graders in our school.  It is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Tucson and is enthusiastically supported by our school administration and teachers.

We need additional volunteers (parents, grandparents, and neighbors) to become Reading Coaches (tutors).  Reading Seed provides a three-hour training workshop, followed by a one-hour a week commitment during the school year.  During that hour, you would share your love of reading with a child, one-on-one, for 30 minutes.  Then, do the same with a second child for another 30 minutes.

We know that children who become good readers read the most, achieve the most, and stay in school the longest.  Help our children succeed by becoming good readers by the third grade.  Your one-hour commitment will make a meaningful difference in the lives of two children.
