Welcome to Ms. Abalos's Website

I’m Magdalena Abalos and I’m very excited to be teaching 7^th grade Social Studies. My goal is to help students understand the various perspectives of history, and learn a variety of skills that will help them as they move forward in their education. I look forward to an exciting and challenging school year! On a personal note, I love sports and have coached high school and middle school basketball, track and cross-country. I come from a large family and I have a twin sister who is a veterinarian. 

7th Grade Social Studies

Seventh Grade Social Studies will emphasize American history from the Civil War and the Great Depression. The four units we will investigate are: Civil War and Reconstruction, Immigration and Industrialization, U.S. in a Global Age, Great Depression and WWII. The 5 disciplines we will use to study these units are American History, World History, Geography, Civics, and Economics.

Assignments will consist of bellwork questions, reading assignments,  group projects, notebook tests, simulations/experiential exercises, internet research, and occasional homework assignments. Students are required to keep a notebook in class where they do/keep all of their work.
