PSAT at SHS
Sahuaro High School will be hosting the PSAT testing on Saturday October 18th from 7:30 AM (with an 8:00 start) to 11:00 AM in various rooms on campus. Cost will be $19.00 and sign up will begin October 1st in the finance office. We encourage all college bound sophomores and juniors to take this test. It is good practice for the SAT test and if students perform well on it as juniors, they can qualify for National Merit Scholarships.
Sophomores/Juniors - Take the PSAT on 10/18! - It is the best practice for the SAT (one of the two choices for 4 year college admission - the other is the ACT). See Mr. Dunn in the Finance Office to sign up by Monday 10/12. $19 cash or check. Fee waivers for those on free or reduced lunch.

Juniors/Seniors (class of 2010) should register for one or both of these exams if they intend on going to a 4 year college or university. Please check with each school regarding which test they may prefer, score expectations, and if subject tests are a requirement.
ACT: www.act.org for registration
and test dates; Cost is $30 (no writing), $43 (plus writing)
SAT: www.collegeboard.com for registration and test dates; Cost is $43 for reasoning test, $20 for additional subject tests (as required by some colleges)
Scholarship Searches
**Hint: Create a separate email account used solely for scholarship searching, that way your regular email address does not get flooded with advertisements. Free email accounts are available through yahoo and hotmail.

College & Military Recruiter Visitations
Military Recruiters are on campus approximately once a week. If you wish to speak to a representative from the Marines, Army or Army Reserve, Navy, and/or Air Force please see your counselor. Military Recruiters are usually on compus during the late morning. please contact the career center for more information.

daily announcements for visitations by college and military recruiters. Sign-up on the board outside the counseling office to visit with a representative.
