My name is Claudia Oreck- Teplitsky ( also known as Ms. T.) and I am the LAP tutor here at Hughes.  I am a mother of two, Nathan 20 and Hannah 16, and happy wife to Jeff for 23 years.  I am an avid book reader belonging to two book groups, I love cooking, I am a champion clothes shopper, I love listening to music and I love Bruce Springsteen!

What's a LAP tutor? My job is to help students that need an "extra boost" in reading and writing. I teach 5 classes that meet 3 days a week.  This year I will be working with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders.

Here are some professional background facts about me:

I have a B.A. from the U of A. I was a parent at Hughes for 6 years.

I got my first classroom experiences at Hughes starting with being a Project Pride Leader, Cafeteria / Playground Aide, Teacher's Aide and Substitute.

In 1995 I started my LAP career  at Cragin Elementary.  I was there for 5 years. I became a LAP Mentor in 1999. 

I have been working at Sam Hughes as a LAP tutor / mentor for four years and I love it.
