Small Learning Communities are designed to make High School more relevant to students' lives and to help students build better relationships throughout their high school careers. Santa Rita has a total of 5 Communities. The Faculty, Staff, and Administration are proud to work with students under these parameters because we have confidence in our abilities to educate our students!

9th Grade Academy - The Soaring Eagles

The 9th Grade Academy, also known as The Soaring Eagles, consists of ALL incoming Freshmen. The Academy centers around the Core Classes which include English, Algebra, and Integrated Sciences. Students are also encouraged to take elective classes in order to explore possible future interests. All freshmen subjects (Core and Elective) will be taught using integrated projects, thematic units, and real-life lessons to ensure all students learn the basics that will help them achieve throughout the next three years.

10th Grade Academy - TBD

The 10th Grade Academy, whose name will be chosen at the Sophomore Orientation, consists of ALL true 10th grade students. The Academy centers around the Core Classes which include English, Geometry, Biology, and World History. Students are also encouraged to take elective classes in order to explore possible future interests. All sophomore subjects (Core and Elective) will be taught using integrated projects, thematic units, and real-life lessons to ensure all students learn the basics that will help them make educated choices as to the following two years of high school as well as passing the AIMS test.

11th and 12th Grade Academies

The Science & Engineering Academyis a two year program that allows students to learn about career choices in the fields of Science and Engineering. Academy subjects include Advanced Sciences, Advanced Construction, Welding, Auto Mechanics, and Mathematics. Students will have differentiated instruction in their English and Social Studies Classes to help them in their chosen career. Students will complete a final project their Junior and Senior years.

The Business & Entrepreneurship Academyis a two year program that allows students to learn about career choices in the fields of Business. Academy subjects include Advanced Business classes, Marketing, Culinary Arts, and Advanced Computer classes. Students will have differentiated instruction in their English, Science, Math and Social Studies Classes, to help them in their chosen career. Students will complete a final project their Junior and Senior years.

The Fine Arts & Media Academy is a two year program that allows students to learn about career choices in the fields of all Fine Arts and Media. Academy subjects include Advanced Visual Arts classes, Advanced Performing Arts classes, Marketing, Media, and Theatre Tech. Students will have differentiated instruction in their English. Math, Science and Social Studies Classes to help them in their chosen career. Students will complete a final project their Junior and Senior years.
