Attendance and Tardy Policy
- A good attendance record is essential to academic success. Board Policy 5110 states that 10 absences in a semester or 6 absences in a quarter will result in a no credit grade. Students who miss one or more classes during the day will be contacted via our "Student Messenger Phone System" between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. When a student has 3, 6, and 10 absences, a letter will be sent home.
- For any student absence, please contact the ATTENDANCE OFFICE at 731-7602. Parents should call between 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on the day of a student's absence or send a note upon student's return. For your convenience between the hours of 3:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m., you may use our voice mail. To excuse an absence on the voice mail, be sure to include: Student Name, Grade, Date of Absence, Reason, Name/Relationship of person calling, and Daytime phone number to call in case there is a question.
- Leaving Campus: Failure to sign out in advance from the Attendance or Nurse's Office will result in an unexcused absence. Students that are at a medical appointment during school hours will be required to return with a written note from teh medical facility or doctor.
- Tardies: All students late for school must come through the front office to sign in as soon as they enter campus the first time that day. Excused tardies (i.e. Dentist or Doctor appointment) will receive passes.

Any student who has 6 absences in a quarter class or 10 in a semester class will automatically recieve a NO CREDIT (NC). This includes unexcused and excused absences. If you have access to Parental Access on the internet you will be able to monitor you child's school attendance on a daily basis.
Again, a NC grade will be given to a student who has 6 absences in a quarter or 10 absences in a semester. This includes UNEXCUSED and EXCUSED absences.
Students who did not make an appeal for loss of credit will have to make up the credit during summer school or TUSD distance learning.
Appeals must be done 10 days prior to the end of 1st Semester or for Quarter classes, before the end of the quarter. See your counselor for the Appeals form.
