Tully Elementary  is an Excelling  multifaceted public school within Tucson Unified School District.  Tully operates under the Shared Decision Making governance structure.  This process involves the community in working together to improve student achievement. Tully was featured in the Tucson Citizen on October 15, 2007 in an article crediting Tully for being the only local elementary school to make a three level step increase, from "performing" to "performing plus" to "excelling" warranting a very special visit from our State Superintendent, Tom Horne.

OMA is designed around brain-based research, multi-intelligence learning and the neurological development of children.  The arts are used to target skills specific to a child’s brain development.”

As part of the OMA family the Fine Arts room is now the OMA Room where the CORE Curriculum is re-enforced through the arts.  The classroom teacher and the Arts Integration Specialist collaborate to enhance and strengthen the student’s educational experience.  Students in Kinder through Fifth grade work with Artists in targeted areas specific to a child’s brain development and also collaborate with the Teachers and Arts Integration Specialist.  We are also very excited to pilot OMA at the Pre-School level with a focus on psycho-motor skills through movement.  For more information regarding OMA please visit http://www.tusd1lorg/oma/

Tully Elementary School offers full day kindergarten and 18:1 student-teacher ratio.  Scientific based research shows these smaller class sizes are critical to a student's success.  Tully's core curriculum aligns to the Arizona Academic standards.  Kinder students have the opportunity to experience many different learning styles through the Art, Music, P.E., and Technology sessions offered.  These young students also participate in OMA classes (Opening Minds through the

Arts).  Learning extends beyond the classroom with monthly field trips, classroom presentations, and club activities that help enrich children's learning providing many hands-on experiences.  Tully staff and students also participate in a positive reinforcement program to help students learn positive ways to resolve problems and conflicts.

Tully staff strives to provide a safe, nurturing, and welcome environment for kindergarten students.  Ultimately, we want to impress upon these young minds the importance of learning while planting the seed that blooms into a lifelong passion for creativity, critical thinking, and reflection among their academic and social achievements.

Within the pre k -5 program Tully offers a Gifted and Talented Education program, as well as Physical Education and OMA/Fine Arts classes for all its students.  Tully students  participate in ballet classes, Folklorico and other culturally rich activities.  Tully also offers after school academic tutorials. Tully has a PACE  and Project ABLE program, which are State funded preschool programs for four year olds.  Finally, Tully also provides an after school enrichment program for its students.
