International Rescue Committee Internship for Juniors & Seniors

The Ambassador Internship Program seeks to educate high school students about issues facing refugees worldwide.  During the three week program, students will gain an understanding of international conflicts, listen to guest speakers and have the opportunity to ask questions, and meet other students from around Pima County.  This year, we will focus on the journeys taken by refugees to find safety and rebuild their lives and show students how they can become involved in our community and make a difference.  Students will also have the opportunity to meet refugee youthtry new food, and challenge themselves to think in new ways about the world and their role in it.

Sessions will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12-4pm beginning July 11th. Optional volunteer opportunities will be provided on Tuesday of each week. The program is open to rising juniors and seniors.  Acceptance is granted on a competitive basis, and applicants will be notified by Monday, June 6th.  Accepted applicants are asked to pay a $100 fee to cover program costs.  Scholarships are available based on need.
