Letter Names

Letter naming is the ability to recognize and recall uppercase and lowercase letter names. Letter naming includes the ability to sequence the letters of the alphabet.

Alphabetizing

• Paw Park: Alphabet Bears - an interactive site that provides students with 5 bears wearing a T-shirt with a word and picture on it. When the student moves the mouse over the word it says the word. The students must put the words in alphabetical order.

Letter Names

• ABC Mommy and Me - Presents the capital and lower case letter of the alphabet. Students can click on the letters to hear them said aloud.
• Kangaroo Confusion
• Leo the Letter-Loving Lobster - students select an environment such as home, store, restaurant, etc. and must select the upper and lower case letters that begin with three pictures.
• Literacy Net - Capital Letters - provides 5 activities with capital letters. In one they click on the letter and it says it, another they drag shapes to build the letter, another brings out each letter of the alphabet, the next is a connect the dot in alphabetical order, and the final activity lets them click on the keyboard and it highlights and speaks the letter. To change activities click on the number at the top.
• Literacy Net - Lowercase Letters - provides 3 activities with lowercase letters.
• Literacy Net - Upper and Lowercase Letters - provides 3 activities for students to match upper and lowercase letters.
• Literacy Net - Writing Letters - provides 3 activities for students to see how to create upper and lowercase letters and basic shapes.
