Dear Drachman Parents, Students and Community Members,
We are responsible and peaceful!
These beautiful words are at the core of our operations for our
beautiful children. During this school year, I also want to see Drachman
expand its connections with you. Parents and guardians are the primary
educators of children, and we plan to increase the quantity and quality of
our
school-to-home communication so that we can learn from your
experiences with our students.
The Montessori philosophy promoted at Drachman recognizes the impact of
critical learning periods in childhood in relation to the development of
social, emotional, intellectual, physical, and moral capabilities. The
professionals at Drachman respect the uniqueness of each person and nurture
the innate capacity of every person to fulfill their potential as
contributing citizens of the world. Children at Drachman experience a
distinguished form of public schooling that is unique in our current
educational era of high-stakes testing. Our youth are trusted, supported and
allowed to become readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, artists and
advocates for individual health and interpersonal peace. Thank you for being
