Developing
Plans and Projects
Ø
Support Groups: This semester I will have
5 support groups Changing Families, Anger Management, School Success, Self
Control, and Friendship/Teamwork. The
groups will begin January 29, 2007.
Ø
Attendance Mentors:
The following week I should
have a list of students along with their home phone numbers, and an explanation
of your responsibilities (don’t worry it’s not too much work). I thank those of you that were able to give
of your time.
Ø
Breakfast Club:
In mid-February students will be invited to
participate in the Breakfast Club. This
program is geared for students that need extra support and encouragement for
getting to school regularly and on time.
The students will have the opportunity to spend time with their
attendance mentors, check out books, brainstorm ideas of how to get to school
and on time, and create personal goals for academic improvement at school.
Ø
Career Day/Week:
Due to
various presenters and fieldtrip plans for the 9-12 class, we will have a
Career Week. Career Week will occur
February 26 to March 2, 2007. Over the
next month, the students will have an awareness of the dignity in all careers,
identify personal likes and dislikes, identify jobs in the classroom and at
home, describe how learning relates to work, relate personal hobbies, leisure
activities and academic abilities to career choices, and much more. I will relay more information to you through
email about the presenters, dates, and available slots. If you have any questions, feel free to
call or see me!
Ø
Pasta for Pennies: A program which fundraises to find cures for leukemia, lymphoma,
Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and to provide patient services, will begin the
second week of March and will go for 3 straight weeks. It is for a great cause and I hope all of
you are willing to participate. Thank
you!
*Have a wonderful quarter
