General Information
Library Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 3:00
We have a flexible schedule plan in our Library.
Students, staff, and parents use our Library before school and throughout the
school day.
Drachman Library Mission Statement:
The Drachman School Library program ensures that
students, staff and parents are effective users of information.
Specific programs include:
- learning experiences that incorporate
literature and information strategies
- print and technological resources to
support the curriculum and the diverse needs of the students, staff and
parents
- flexible scheduling allowing students,
parents and teachers unlimited access
- regular collaboration between
classroom teachers and the teacher-librarian
- a huge selection of resources
- a hands-on student-focused research
support
- small group critical thinking sessions
How does this look at Drachman:
- Teachers, the Teacher-Librarian and
Instructional coach collaboratively plan lessons that support the classroom
curriculum.
- Schedules are made on a flexible basis
- Students check books out on a daily
basis before, during and after school (including lunch).
- Support for students working on
independent research is provided at the point of need.
- The Frequent Reader Program is a
voluntary program.
