Resigned:  Alivia Mellor (parent).  WE ARE LOOKING FOR A REPLACEMENT FOR THIS POSITION. MEETINGS ARE THE FIRST WEDNESDAY OF EACH MONTH AT 3:30 P.M.

Minutes from Oct 12 meeting were approved as written.  Moved by Mr. Blumenthal and 2nd by Mr. Aleshire

Call to Audience:  No response

Agenda Items:

After school tutoring-  We currently have 6 teachers conducting after school tutoring on either Mondays and Thursdays or Tuesday and Thursdays:  Knippen, Herron, Kelliher, and Bohland doing math tutoring; Blomquist and Marquez conducting L.A. tutoring.

Over the last couple of months, we have been trying to organize transportation for students living great distances (e.g. Pistor, Hohokam) from Gridley, so they might participate in tutoring.  A plan was developed and the district has agreed to provide a bus on tutoring days that arrives at 4:40 and takes the students to Booth-Fickett where they can ride on Fickett’s activity buses that reach outlying areas of TUSD’s district lines.  Tutoring is over at 4:15, so Ms. Scheppe will monitor students until the bus arrives.  On the first day this plan was implemented, 3 students rode the bus, and they left school with their homework done as well as going to tutoring.

Computer/Bandwidth-  The computers in both labs have been cleaned and software installed.  They all work and are ready for use by classes.  Bandwidth was not updated over the holidays as promised by the district.  Ms. Herron called Tech Support and the latest word is that Gridley’s bandwidth should be updated by the end of this week.  This will lessen staff frustration due to slow computers and will enable Ms. Herron and Ms. Kalal to begin using the Rosetta Stone software that the district has provided for their Exploratory Arts classes.

Site Council Leadership meeting:  Ms. Scheppe and Ms. Herron attended on November 11, 2011.  Ms. Scheppe conducted one of the pull-out sessions.  Please see Ms. Herron’s notes for further information on this topic.

Next month’s agenda items:

Deseg money update-how to spend the remainder

Undesignated 301 tax credit funds use for soft capital expenses

                        Next year’s budget

                        Rosetta Stone demo

Meeting adjourned at 4:21- Mr. Aleshire moved and Mr. Blumenthal 2nd
