@ the Erickson Library

by Mrs. Devereaux

The library is open for all business from 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (Wednesdays until 1:30 p.m.).

Parents are welcome to come to the library to check out books for their families. See Mrs. Devereaux or Mrs. Pryor to sign up for the opportunity to check out up to 10 books at a time. It is easy to select and return them before school or after school as you bring or pick up your students. The librarians can help parents select books that will help with homework and be fun to read as a family.

The library welcomes volunteers who would like to shelve books and help with circulation. See a librarians if you can come on a regular basis to help and we will get all the paperwork in order so you can work with us. The library is a great place to be if you have an interest in serving all the Erickson students.

Fourth and fifth grade students work as Library Aides. They are trained to check books out, help students select books, and  keep the library in order. They work during their lunch break once a week. Look for students wearing the Student Aide name tag if you need help in the library.

Please return library books on time. Others may be waiting to check out the book you have.

Please take care of  the library books. Think about how you want the books you read to look. Do you want to read a book that is written in with crayon, has lots of tears, or has food on the pages? Erickson students are reminded to be responsible with all books whether they belong to the school library, the public library, or your own personal library. Let's keep  books  new and clean so they can be enjoyed for years. If you do tear a page or spill something on a book, be responsible and let the librarians know. They have special tape and can repair most problems so the books can be checked out again.

The Pima Public Library sponsors reading programs for all ages. Library cards are free, and each patron can check out up to 25 books at a time.  They also have DVDs, sound recordings, offer Homework Help, and sponsor many programs. All materials and programs are free! The Wilmot library is north of Broadway on Wilmot. The Columbus and Golf Links Libraries are also near our area.  All three are open  from 10 a.m-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Stop by a library and check out a good book, a DVD, or use their computers.
