Dear Community Members:

I wish to thank those families and community members who have donated to Meredith K-12 School in the past. As you know, Arizona tax credit donations help schools pay for what in many schools have unfortunately become extras. Arizonans have a chance to combine the generosity of giving with getting a tax break. The Arizona School Tax Credit is a good way to help kids.

As a school that provides programming for special needs students, we have utilized tax credit contributions for fine arts, athletics, and extra-curricular activities. Our student population comes from residences throughout the Tucson Unified School District area. Approximately 54% of our students live in group homes or foster care settings and 91% students receive free and/or reduced lunch.

For the past several years our students have had art instruction lessons given by Creative Visualizations, Inc. This is an example of an 'extra' value-added program that compliments academics that we are able to provide through the use of tax credit dollars. In fact, there is a body of research that substantiates the valuable academic contribution that art infusion provides for students such as ours.

To make a tax credit donation to our school, you can either give your contribution directly to us or fill out the online district. (Link Below) You need to indicate that it is a tax credit donation and its specific purpose, like the arts program, sports, or field trips. However, if you want to simply make a donation and allow us to decide where it's most needed, indicate that when making your donation. You will receive a receipt for your tax records.

The public school tax credit is up to $200 for single taxpayers or heads of households or $400 for married taxpayers filing jointly.

Your contribution CAN make a difference. With your help, we will be able to provide enriching experiences to enhance the educational experiences of our children.
