Home Current Quarter 4th Quarter parent letter

Dear Parents,

Congratulations, we have made it to another exciting school year.  Your son/daughter will be in my class for Language Arts and Reading.  I am looking forward to working with you and your child.

Expectations for your child will be high.  Every child has the ability to learn and be successful if they make that choice.  They will be successful if they are able to: demonstrate appropriate behavior, good attitude, cooperation with staff and students, participate in classroom activities and complete the work to the best of their ability.

General class rules for my class include:

Be on time ready to work

Pens, pencils and paper and agendas are necessary every day

Be respectful to the classroom and your classmates

Keep hands and feet to yourself.

Do not touch anybody or anything that does not belong to you

 No throwing objects

No gum allowed

Writing on desk or books will result in immediate payment for that item

Follow class rules

The rewards for hard work may include but are not limited to: treats, cooking, movies, and field trips.

Consequences for misbehaviors may include (but are not limited to) an individual conference with child, a letter written by child explaining why he/or she misbehaved and what he/she is going to do to change; lunch detention; after school tune-up; movement to another room and a phone call home; referral to office.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 225-1885.  Please sign the attachment that says you have read this letter.

      Thank you,

Ms. Finder

Sometimes during the course of our studies we find videos that enhance, introduce, review or follow-up our instructional materials.  We have noted that some of these videos are given a PG or PG-13  rating and feel it is necessary  to get parental permission for students to view these movies in the classroom.  If you are uncomfortable with your child viewing any movies with either of these ratings, please be assured that he/she will be given an alternate assignment and placed in a different setting while the movie is being viewed.

____I give permission for this student to view PG and PG13 movies in the classroom for the 2007-2008 school year.

____I give permission for this student  to view only PG rated movies in the classroom for  the 2007-2008 school year.

___I would prefer that this student not be present in classrooms showing PG or PG-13 rated videos for the 2007-2008 school year.
