Message from the Principal

 Dear Miller Community,

The first quarter has flown by and we are almost at our Fall Break!  We have had so many exciting events such as the book fair, parent / teacher conferences, U of A visit, and Alex's Lemonade Stand.  Events like this really make us appreciate our parents and community.

This year the district got a new system called Synergy.  This is where we have all your child's information such as phone numbers, addresses and emergency contacts.  This allows us to contact you by voice message when we have important information to share.  If you have changed your phone number, please update Lynda or Elena in the office so they can change it in Synergy.

We will also use Synergy for progress reports so they will look a little different this year.  Below is a sample of what the new report looks like.  As you can see, there are some gray areas without a number.  Those areas are left blank because that standard was not taught or the teacher did not have evidence to give your child a grade for that area.  Progress reports will be sent home on Tuesday, October 18th.

This month brings lots of celebrations such as the Fall Ball and Halloween.  This year, we are trying something new and allowing the students to dress up for the Fall Ball and Halloween.  If you decide to send your student in costume, please be sure that they are not gory because we don't want our little ones to be scared.  Also please adhere to TUSD dress code guidelines so they aren't too revealing.  Miller is not responsible for any costumes that may be damaged or lost.

Teachers will be sending home monthly newsletters about their classroom.  This will provide you with "Up to the minute" information regarding both classroom and school news.  Be sure to also click on the newsletter section of our homepage to see a copy of the school's monthly newsletter.

Last, I hope that everyone has a great Fall Break.  Thank you for making the beginning of this school year successful for your children and for us.
