We hope that you had a great summer!!! We feel that this will be a very exciting year at Hohokam Middle School and we hope you are ready for a great year learning about science. This year, you will investigate the following topics: ecology, earth history, and astronomy. All of these topics will involve hands-on class work and lectures will be kept to a minimum. It is very important that you are at school each and every day because it is very difficult to impossible to make up labs and hands-on activities.

Please make sure that you come to class prepared with a writing instrument, paper, science notebook, and your happy science learning positive attitude. We are looking forward to this school year and having you as my students.

About your Teacher

My name is Mrs. Palasi. I grew up in a small town near Ann Arbor, Michigan with my parents, seven sisters and two brothers. Not long after high school I joined the United States Air Force and spent most of my tour in Germany. My love of traveling has taken me to Spain, Berlin, Italy, Greece, and Turkey, most of Europe, Mexico and Africa. I'm married and have wonderful son, 18, so I fully understand parenting a teen. I graduated Cum Laude from Central Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science. Once accepted to the U of A Teach4Tucson program, I graduated with a Masters in Education in 2005. My own teaching philosophy includes a very strong belief that ALL STUDENTS have the ability to meet HIGH EXPECTATIONS for Appropriate School Behavior AND Academic Excellence!

I plan to provide a safe, exciting, nurturing classroom environment with loads of fun science learning.
