Instructional Software Approval Process

Tucson Unified School District has endorsed a policy with respect to the process by which educationally appropriate software is acquired and installed at school sites.

Schools must adhere to District Standards when installing/purchasing software. No software will be installed on networked computers unless it has been previously approved. A Software Approval Form must be submitted for review to Educational Technology along with a legal working copy of the software. Once approved it will be added to the Approved Software list.

This does not mean that schools have license to the software. It does mean that schools wishing to purchase software can refer to the list of titles already approved before making a purchase. School site officials will be responsible for acquiring enough licenses to meet their needs.
