Meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of every month
immediately following Tuesday Assembly!
Next meeting: Mar 27 8:30am
@ 8:30am – Parent Room Please attend if you have volunteered to be a home room parent, would
like to be a home room parent, would like to help the home room parents,
or would like more information about home room parents. Thanks!
Being a home room parent
means you are the contact point between your teacher and the other parents of children in your classroom. Teachers rely on Home Room parents to help them with various activities throughout the year. It's a fun way to get involved with your child's school/classroom and meet other parents.
Your first job as a Home Room Parent is to put together a classroom roster of contact info so that parents can
be given information from you
as well as contact each other. This information is shared only with other
parents in the classroom.
Being a home room parent does not need to be a one person job. Teachers
may have 2,3 or more parents share duties. Teachers have individual needs from
making copies and stuffing homework packets to helping out with art projects,
chaperoning field trips, and sometimes bringing snacks. A very important
Home Room Parent job is encouraging class (and parental) participation
in school functions such as food drives and fundraisers.
You are the liaison between your teacher and the other parents.
Everyone
benefits from good communication between parents and teachers.
