Your child's spelling words will be sent home each week with their homework packet/folder. Please study the spelling words each day with your child, at least 5-10 minutes. Our spelling words follow our Harcourt reading program. We learn the words on day 1(pretest), practice them on days 2-4, and have a test on day 5(posttest). The dates of the spelling tests will change depending on holidays and any days that we have other things happening. Please check the top of the spelling list to see when the test day will be for the words.

Ways to study

1. Make flash cards.

2. Study with an older sibling or friend.

3. Write a sentence for each word.

4. Write words on a white board or in a journal.
