to Safford's information page! This page is here to tell people about
our school and some of our many programs and organizations. For each
grade level, we have two classes in engineering and technology. We also
have multi-grade classes and extended day programs. Some of our classes
are listed below.

Sixth
grade engineering/technology classes:
Engineering/Technology class: Basic computer
applications; Use advanced programming tools in Micro world to program computers
to create graphics, sound and animation using advanced mathematics, logic and
problem solving.
Hands-on Engineering Class: Structural and
mechanical engineering, including architecture; Solve puzzles, practice measuring, explore ideas about design, build with
Legos® and create an invention.
Seventh
grade engineering/technology
classes:
Technology Class: Advanced
computer applications including word processing, database, spreadsheet, and
graphics. Projects involve the internet, digital photo equipment and multi-media
presentations.
Video Technology Class: Creation,
production and editing of video using claymation, animation, computer graphics
and audio.
Windows®
Technology Class: Microsoft
Office 2000®
and more are taught in a
modern Compaq®

Eighth
grade engineering/technology
classes:
Technology Clusters Class:
projects in bridge-building, multimedia presentations, vehicle design,
manufacturing and biotechnology; lab with Compaq computers and commercial lab
kits.
Technology Class: Macintosh G-3
lab; Cross-curriculum content with multi-media projects utilizing internet
research strategies for the World Wide Web, digital graphics, and desktop
publishing.
Multi-grade
engineering/technology exploratory classes:
Advanced Video Class: Live and
taped media productions that are broadcast over the school-wide video network.
