The December PTSC (Parent/Teacher/Student/Community
organization) meeting is this week.
The topic is another one that
concerns all of us---what
parents need to know about college for their high-school-age
children. This is
information regarding Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors---not
only Seniors. In addition to Principal Dr. Abel Morado,
College Advisors from the Counseling Department will provide
information and tips to the PTSC and answer any questions you
might have. It’s a great chance for you to meet some of the
counseling staff!
Come find out about:
--A planning timeline (what to do when).
--Testing (PSAT, SAT, ACT).
--The college application process.
--Financial aid.
--Scholarship opportunities.
--College representatives visiting our campus.
--The help the THMS Counseling Department can provide so that
college can become a reality for your student, what areas of
interest he or she might wish to pursue, which colleges might be
best suited to your student, and a variety of things for the
student and his or her family to be thinking about and planning
for.
Please participate!
Bring your students—they’ll have some questions of their own!
