College Summer Programs

Many colleges and universities offer summer programs for high school students.

Search on line for summer programs that match your interests or go to the website of one of the colleges on your college search list to see what they offer. If information has been sent to THMS, it will be on file in the PRSC/Main - see Dr. Ostroff.

This page contains examples of some of the summer programs available to high school students.

 

University of Arizona's Honor's College, Summer of Excellence 2009 for sophomores and juniors.  Live on campus, take courses, gain college credit with two separate sessions available.  Apply early, financial assistance is offered.

Carnegie Mellon - A Summer of Exploration, 2009
Junior or senior students have the opportunity to study in a college setting for six weeks during the summer. Carnegie Mellon offers several programs.
Advanced Placement / Early Action program allows you to choose two courses in a variety of subjects for college credit. The credit can be used at Carnegie Mellon or may be transferred to other universities for advanced placement credit.
National High School Game Academy - this program allows students to learn interactive game development through hands on experience. Students will be encouraged to pursue undergraduate studies in software engineering, design, creative writing or dramatic arts, while having an understanding of how their educations can lead to a career in the interactive digital media field.

Pre-College Fine Arts - explore a discipline to determine your interest for future study at the college level. These are demanding studio or conservatory based classes.

Pre-College Architecture, Art, Design, Drama, Music programs are offered.
