SANITY: Science and Nature in Tandem for Youth
Study in the Chiricahua Mountains
Tucson High Magnet School students (current Freshman-Juniors) may apply to attend the 9 day summer research internship and field camp held at the Southwestern Research Station in Portal, AZ in late May and early June. Students will explore the biology and geology of the Chiricahua Mountains while staying at the world reknown biological field station. Students will meet research scientists from around the country, learn to make observations and ask questions, and eventually, design a research question and gather data to answer it! $40 for a single ticket and $55 for a couple
What you need to know
1) The Winter Formal is open to ALL GRADE LEVELS.
2) IDs will be required at the door.
3) Students can bring a guest that does not attend THS as long as:
a. The guest contract is completed and approved by the security office. Guest contracts can be found in the finance office
b. The guest must be at least a 9th grader and not older than 19

The window for priority applications is November 1-December 16.
Applications can be picked up at the Community Services Office at 1010 E. 10th St, at the Attendance Office at Tucson High, or can be downloaded from the TUSD website.

Please note: If your child is registered for the Fine Arts and Performing Arts or the Natural Sciences magnet strand they must take classes within the chosen strand. Transportation will be provided.
If your child is registered as Open Enrollment, they do not have to take classes within one of the magnet strands. However, transportation will not be provided.
