ANIMAL SAFETY Reminder to never touch any animal that you might encounter in any setting. It is best to assume that no animal is safe to handle at any time. We recently had a bat visit the Townsend campus and students reacted swiftly and efficiently by getting adult assistance and staying far away from the animal. We are committed to taking every precaution necessary to maintain the safety and security of our school. HANDS AND HOME The best two words to keep in mind with regards to any virus, including the H1N1 (swine flu) virus are “hands” and “home.” Hands refers to the critical action of washing hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water and home refers to the importance of staying home from school when ill. Our observance of these two precautions will keep us all safer and healthier throughout the year. See website flu.gov for further guidance. TRAFFIC Thanks to parents and students for your careful vigilance in the parking lot areas and along Beverly after school. The “parent pick up” area has been fairly busy after school and we ask that you continue to heed signs that suggest you pull forward as far as possible; pay attention to students moving through the lot or crossing the street; and assist us all by being patient as we direct people through the flow of traffic. We normally have some congestion this time of year but it tends to balance out as more students take the bus after school or go home through other means. |
