FAQ about next year…

You have heard that there are changes in store for Townsend over the next few years…and many of you have questions. I continue to invite you and your parents to any of the parent meetings we are holding throughout the next month or so (see website for meeting schedule). I will also try to address some of your questions here:

 

I am currently in 6/7 grade at Townsend. When will you tell me more about the plans for Townsend?

During March, the principal of Doolen, Charlotte Patterson, and I will be meeting with all of you in both large and small groups and you will have opportunities to talk in your classrooms as well as in other settings. You are always welcome to come to our parent meetings as well.

Do I have to go to Doolen? Can I stay at Townsend?

You and your parents will have the choice of staying at Townsend or moving to Doolen at any time during your seventh or eighth grade year(s). You don’t have to decide right now; you will get much more information about the programs and electives that Doolen has, and then you and your family can decide. Townsend will still have seventh and eighth grade until at least the end of the 2010-2011 school year. Later in the spring, you will have a chance to go to Doolen to see what classes are like and explore the campus.
