Ms. Sicilian is one of our 8th grade P.E. teachers but also she teaches 6th and 7th grade health and P.E. She has been working with T.US.D. for 20 years. Ms. Sicilian enjoys her position her at Townsend Middle School because middle school years, she believes, are the most important years for developing healthy attitudes. Also what she loves about her job is seeing students work together to develop new skills and health habits…and especially seeing the cultural diversity of students. In addition to Townsend Middle School, Ms. Sicilian has taught at Santa Rita H.S., Palo Verde H.S., and South Point H.S. She attended the University of Arizona. She was very athletic during her college years due to her interest in sports. What made her become a teacher is that she always enjoyed moving, teaching about the human body, fitness capabilities to all ages. Ms. Sicilian volunteer and participates with Casa Maria Soup Kitchens and the people of Haiti. Her vision of excellence: As an educator, I believe that all students should have an opportunity to be physically healthy, in other to enjoy a quality life. As an educator, I will provide information and challenges to bring about individual health awareness, so that each student will take responsibility for their own body, and the choices they make. |
