The Drum Circle

By: Sereena Giner

Last Thursday, at the Global Fair Kenya Masala led a drum circle. He conducted the music verbally, with body language, and with a variety of percussion instruments. Mr. Masala also brought roughly 60 drums and other instruments!

Lots of students and faculty came to participate. It was exciting to be a part of the circle. Kenya Masala had so much energy. Ms. Warren said, “It was the best part of the Global Fair because it was wicked awesome!”

Mr. Masala owns and runs two businesses with his wife Gabriela. They own and operate the Source Consulting  Group that works with major corporations like Raytheon to help them with community development.  Kenya also has a company called Rhythm Power.  He works with students to help teach them leadership skills and character development. Check him out on his website: www.rhythm-power.com

We would like to thank Kenya for donating his time, instruments, and services to Townsend!

Thank You!
