ADMISSIONS
All applicants are strongly encouraged to review our Admissions Policy to fully understand University High School admissions. To be considered for admission, please fill out an application form and return it to TUSD's Accountability & Research Department by the application deadline (admissions is not managed directly by University High School).
2012-2013 Freshman Admissions
Applications for the 9th grade class of 2012-2013 submitted after the deadline of September 23rd will be accepted until December 7th. Applicants submitting late applications will be tested on Monday December 19th at UHS. Students are requested to be there at 8:30 for check-in. Only students who have submitted an application prior to testing will be tested. No walk-ins.
Students who were absent for their testing date will be sent a reminder notice for the December 19th testing.
If student is enrolled in a TUSD School, download application (English/Spanish).
If student is enrolled in a private, charter or a public school in another district (a non-TUSD School), download application (English/Spanish).
Please review our Admissions Policy and Important Dates to fully understand the admissions process. UHS typically has over 900 students apply for 9th grade admissions and with better understanding of the process the smoother it will go.
Sophomore, Junior, Senior Admissions for 2012-13
Sophomore, Junior, Senior Admissions for 2011-2012 is closed. Admissions for incoming sophomores, juniors and seniors for the 2012-2013 school year will open in April 2012 with admission decisions made by early July. Application forms will be available to download in April 2012 and application deadline will be early June.
The admissions policy for Juniors and Seniors will be under review by the Site Council in September but please review our current Admissions Policy to understand what the admissions criteria is. The admissions criteria is set at a high level because of the demanding curriculum taken by UHS students at the 9th and 10th level. Students applying as Juniors and Seniors must have taken rigorous and challenging academic classes successfully and successfully passed the AIMS in all subjects.
